MainStreet DeLand

DeLand, Florida was the very first community to receive the MainStreet designation in 1985. The city has received the “Great American MainStreet Award,” and has been voted the “Best MainStreet in Florida” five times. It is now one of 2,000 MainStreet communities nationwide.

MainStreet is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization and partnership between city government, businesses and communities with the goal to revitalize and boost the economic development of the downtown area. MainStreet communities strive to “develop the strong resources necessary to build a thriving downtown community, including beautification and economic growth.” MainStreet DeLand has a wide variety of merchants and many dedicated volunteers who work hard to maintain a successful and inviting downtown area. Come see for yourself what MainStreet DeLand has to offer; browse the shops and art galleries, dine at fine restaurants, stop for coffee at one of the specialty coffee shops, visit one of the special events. According to the MainStreet DeLand Association, MainStreet is “dedicated to supporting and enhancing the economic development downtown while protecting and promoting DeLand's historic heritage.”
